1746: What creative source or outlet do you often visit to get fresh ideas or renew your creativity?

When I want to write, I’ll give myself time for inspiration to set in, so about a week or so before the first line comes out I read. A lot. The most important thing is the piece has to make me feel. Readers like to relate, or if not relate, to feel that someone else has experienced similar feelings; we read and we write so that we know we are not alone. And yet.

Creative non-fiction is the perfect blend between fact & fiction and this is where my life belongs, somewhere between reality and unreality. So these are the pieces that draw me and make my heart cry or laugh or bleed or break or swell.

A well crafted sentence caresses me like many men have attempted to and failed.

Genre-bending prose poetry stories essays flash fiction autobiographical novels memoirs – these are the little islands of beauty I visit.
